Ukhimath (North India) to Kannur
What experience better allows us to find ourselves as we travel a prescribed route? Walking can be a spiritual exercise as well as a physical one. It is a unique way to get in touch with the world around us, with the landscape we cross and the people that we meet. It is notable that India has been the historic homeland of pilgrims and travellers, a highly evocative place steeped in religion and founded in meditation and sobriety. Even in moving, in travel, in reaching immediate goals can be transformed by walking into self- actualisation and self- improvement. Even if one travels extensively, there are still infinite things that one might miss. Not because we haven’t looked, but because we haven’t looked while walking.
